Welcome to the PAWS Center!
We are your central hub for a variety of resources, tools, and help!
Located within west quad, the PAWS center is where you’ll find your counselors,
Mrs. Tellez (A-L) and Mr. Puebla (M-Z), along with our campus mentor, Mr. Castillo.
Counselors are available to
assist students who are having trouble keeping up with their schoolwork, making
friends, or adjusting to the middle school experience. Additionally, we
assist parents/guardians and students with any questions or concerns about
attendance and academics, as well as offering available resources and
services. The PAWS center is also able to provide some of our students
with individual or group counseling throughout the school year.
All students and parents are
welcome to stop by the PAWS Center to see a counselor or mentor anytime during
the school day. We are all here to help make your stay here at Wiltsey both
memorable and successful!

My name is Amy Tellez and I am one of two Student Services Counselors at Wiltsey Middle School. I’ve earned a Master’s Degree in Education, with an emphasis in Pupil Personnel Services, from Azusa Pacific University. I’ve also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from San Diego State University. I’ve been a school counselor for 8 years, taught for 3 years and was a social worker for disabled students for 5 years prior to that. I am passionate about helping students reach their goals and strive for higher level learning. I am bilingual, fluent in English and in Spanish, and I am here to support students and their families. I have a family of my own. I am married and have a 16 year old daughter and a 10 year old son. My hobbies include camping, swimming and spending time with family.
My name is Hubaldo Puebla and I am one of two school counselors here at Wiltsey Middle School, serving students with last names M-Z. This is my third year as a school counselor at Wiltsey. I was previously a teacher at Wiltsey for about 8 years, teaching math and art at both the 7th and 8th grade level.
I am originally from Ontario. As a child, I attended multiple schools in the Ontario-Montclair School District: Mariposa Elementary, Berlyn Elementary, and Vina Danks Middle School. I also attended the local high school, Chaffey High School. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Art/Animation from Cal State University, Northridge. Shortly after, I went back to school to work towards my single subject teaching credential and Masters in Educational Administration at Cal State University, San Bernardino. After teaching for a while, I decided to return to Cal State San Bernardino and received my Masters and Credential in Educational Counseling.
When I’m not here working with our amazing staff and students, I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife, Yvette, and I currently have our hands full with our 16 month old son, Joaquin. In my spare time, I do enjoy photography, learning how to DIY projects around my home, Crossfit, and drawing of course.
Please feel free to get in touch with me if you have any questions or if there is something that I can do to better support your students socio-emotional needs and academics.
