Welcome to Wiltsey IB Middle School. It is an honor to serve this community and we look forward to meeting you. It is our goal to create a safe environment in which your student will develop academically, socially, emotionally, and interculturally, in order to become an independent, critical-thinking global citizen. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme is designed to help students find a sense of belonging in the ever-changing and increasingly interrelated world around them and to foster a positive attitude to learning.
Principal: Dr. Henry Romero
My name is Henry Romero and I am proud to serve as principal of Wiltsey IB Middle School. Most recently, I served as the assistant principal at Serrano Middle School, also in the Ontario-Montclair School District. I began my career in education as a middle school English teacher for the Banning Unified School District, before moving on to the Rowland Unified School District where I served as an English teacher and then later as a District Program Specialist for Curriculum and Instruction. My educational experience includes a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Master’s Degree in Education, both from Azusa Pacific University, and also a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California (USC). In addition, I possess a multiple-subject teaching credential and a single-subject English credential. “Every Student, Every Minute, Every Day,” is a personal motto that I continue to keep at the forefront of my mind throughout my journey as an educational leader.
Assistant Principal: Andrea Gosnell ext. 226
My name is Andrea Gosnell, Assistant Principal, and I have been honored to serve at Wiltsey for the past eight years in multiple different capacities. I started at Wiltsey as the instructional coach working alongside staff to investigate instructional practices and provide professional development. As Wiltsey transitioned into an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program (MYP), I was the IB coordinator. During this effort we transitioned the focus of Wiltsey on being more internationally minded. In today’s world, there has never been more of a time, where being culturally accepting and tolerant is needed. As technology and its usage have increased, the barriers to communicate with the world around us have diminished. IB has given us a gateway to build an understanding of the world and its people. Now, as the Assistant Principal, I come to believe the words of Winston Churchill, “Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.” At Wiltsey, we never lose enthusiasm for our community, parents, teachers, but most importantly, our students.
Dean of Students: Richard Moore
Hello, staff, students, parents, and OMSD stakeholders. This is my ninth year in the field of education. I have taught ELA in grades 6-12, but middle school is where my heart is. I have expertise in using PBIS to create safe and welcoming learning environments. Additionally, I love providing teachers with instructional feedback to enable them to increase rigor in their classes. I look forward to being a part of this learning community that uses the International Baccalaureate program to produce “inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who aspire to create a more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.”
